School Sponsorship Program
Many children in PNG never start school or drop out of school before the
end, or at the end of primary school. The commonest reason for this is
that parents cannot afford the school fees, which although modest are
beyond the means of many families who have no significant cash income.
The HOPE worldwide (PNG)
School Sponsorship program covers the school fees of over 200 children
in Port Moresby and in the Gumine District of Simbu Province. Many of
the Port Moresby children are graduates of our
non-formal school.
Children are sponsored by individual donors. Some of the funds are also
used for development programs in the area where the child lives.
Children are supported until they complete their education.
