IT Program

In the developed world, children have
the world at their fingertips through the internet. In Papua New Guinea,
very few children have access to a computer even at school, and many
have never even seen a computer. As part of the School Library Program
funded by NZAID, HOPE worldwide
(PNG) has provided computers to over 20 primary and high schools in
various parts of the country. Generally second-hand computers (donated
from Australia, New Zealand, and PNG) are used. However at Gumine High
School new computers were donated by AusAID, powered by solar power –
the first such classroom in PNG.
